About Me
Emerson and Me
When Starting in Real Estate in February of 2008. I found as many Realtors do that many of your first home sellers and home buyers are your close friends and family.
As as a general rule my initial Broker would allow you discount commission to 5% for friends and family and no lower. Even at that rate it was hard for me to feel as if I was not taking advantage of my friends and family.
Shortly there after I found a new Broker who was not interested in controlling my ability to be flexible for my customers. Also he took way less of my commission as compared to the traditional 40 to 50% cut some large name brokers take.
I quickly began listing homes for sale at 4%. Giving 3% to the buyers Realtor and taking 1% for representing the Home Seller. Saving Home Sellers $2000 for every $100,000 their home sells for, as compared to a 6% commission.
My buyers 20% rebate came as more of a courtesy. You can read much more about my approach to Selling and Buying Homes in our About Us Section. For more information about me personally and what led me to Home Sales in the first place please read on.
I grew up in Forney Tx and graduated high school from Forney High School in 1999. Between 1999 and 2004 I attended the University of North Texas where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Minor in Chemical Dependency Counseling. As I had supported myself through college in the Restaurant / Bar Industry I continued in that field as I enjoyed in thoroughly. While at UNT I did take multiple classes in marketing and had previous experience in the online marketing of rental properties for a Local Denton Real Estate Broker. From 2004 to 2007 I lived and worked in various areas across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex while managing in a few different Restaraunts
In December of 2006 I was blessed with the surprise that I was going to be a Father. As it was unexpected I felt the need for a change being that my late hours in the restaurant industry would not be conducive to family life.
So I started looking into the idea of becoming and agent and finally got my license in February of 2008. I started briefly with a larger national brand Brokerage and learned quickly that it was not the name on the sign that matter as much as the drive and service of the Realtor.
Lauren and Me
In my first two and a half years I have been blessed to be involved in nearly 80 closings. Giving me a good amount of hands on experience with negotiations and the myriad of problems that can occur, and how to avoid them altogether. My unique approach to Home Selling and Home Buying has saved my Home Sellers over $70,000 and has allowed me to rebate my Home Buyers more than $40,000.
As soon as I was eligible to become a Real Estate Broker on my own I took the test and passed. Now Avery Realty Group is 100% independent and actively seeking new Realtors to bring a great business plan to the public.
It is my commitment that if you enlist my services you will not be disappointed by my quick responses and straight forward approach to representing you.
I currently reside in Forney with my Fiance Lauren and Daughter Emerson.
